Villa in Umbria
Reasons to book
About this villa rental
The large shaded loggia set at the centre of the villa is on the same axis as the sun and furnished with a large dining table and a seating area with a deck floor. This is where one enjoys the stunning views whilst enjoying breakfast, dinner, or just reading a book of the unspoilt Umbrian countryside made up of castles, fortified hamlets and hilltop villages.
Granaio Lavandoloso is the creation of a famous roman architect who wanted to find the perfect balance between nature and man. On how to insert into an unspoilt countryside a contemporary home, leaving the smallest footprint possible but ensuring all modern comforts are there. The house has an array of solar panels which make it entirely self-sufficient and designed horizontally so not to disturb the hillside.
The centre of activity as with all Italian homes is the beautifully designed kitchen part of a large open plan area including a dining area and a sitting area with high ceilings and large glass windows and doors that constantly enable us to enjoy those beautiful views. The fittings and furnishings are all of a high quality, the kitchen is very well equipped, modern bathrooms, a projector in the sitting room and in the master bedroom there is a double bathtub on a deck. No compromise on comfort here.
There is a large selection of untouched villages to explore in the area, with great local restaurants to choose from. The famous medieval city of Todi is just a 15 mins drive, Perugia is nearby as are all the beautiful Umbrian cities of Spoleto, Assisi and Orvieto. And you can fly into Perugia in the summer months or into Rome that is under two hours away. Umbria offers many surprises, from small markets to Etruscan and Roman remains to experience away from the crowds that you find further north in Tuscany.
