The house is well-designed, with great extras like the pool and comfortable lounge chairs, a jeu de boules court, and nostalgic family games like 1000 Bornes. The parking spot by the door made packing easy, and the host was very kind and responsive.
This feedback is meant to raise awareness for future guests and offer constructive suggestions to the host, as the house has only recently become available.
Upon arrival, the cleanliness was below expectations—spiderwebs and spiders in corners, and dirty dishes in the cupboard. While the house hadn't been rented for a few days, a quick pre-arrival check would have helped. Towels and sheets, though washed, had a musty smell but were promptly replaced when we informed the host.
Given the house is new, higher-quality furniture would be expected. The outdoor plastic furniture and poor-quality bedroom shelves were disappointing, especially with limited storage space for longer stays (also in the bathroom). At €220/night, a modest investment in better furnishings would better match the pricing, especially as prices are even higher in peak season.
Finally, we encountered confusion with automated messages: duplicate caution payment requests and an incorrect payment link outside of Booking.com. Both issues were resolved quickly by Emilie, but could have caused unnecessary double payments without intervention.
All in all, we still recommend the location, but hope both host and guests address these early-stage issues—hygiene, furnishings, and communication. With some small investments and attention to detail, the stay could offer a much better price-quality ratio and truly earn a 9 or 10 rating.
