City Compass Sunset Villa

A beautiful villa with a nice garden and pool. You have everything you need. Very luxury and clean. Just across the street you have the beach and you have it almost by yourself. Easy to get a cab at the street and the price is 10-15 euros to Rhodes city. A very good host!

This is an great Villa - Firstly the communication and flexibility from Panos during the booking process, on meeting him at the Villa, and throughout the visit, were excellent. The Villa, which is set back hidden behind a gate onto the road, looks even better in real life than it does in the photos, the outside area was lovely with the pool, outside dining and the seating at the top of the garden, a little oasis with the mountain behind. A welcome pack of fresh fruit, local wine, milk, cereals and bread plus coffee pods were appreciated. We were keen to be in a Villa that was in easy reach of Rhodes Town itself and with a small amount of work, this delivered. Its too far to walk safely so we managed to master the local bus service as several run along the road right outside the villa. We found that Google Maps were the best at predicting when the buses would come, the number 12 was very reliable, the airport buses (50 / 51) were sometimes too full to stop. You just need to be forceful about flagging them down and getting them to stop. Its easy to then get a bus back from Rhodes town main bus stop, and they run on time from there, even up to midnight. Ignore some of the out of date posts online ALL the buses on that route accepted contactless card payment. Its a 10 minute journey, 1.5 Euro. We had a hire car and although the Villa lists no private parking, there was always a safe space on the road right outside. You can walk over to the beach really easily to watch the sunset and although its maybe not the prettiest beach on the Island, its easy to get into the sea for a swim. Top tip, the nearby Brunch cafe, Khoumi's, is absolutely fantastic, great coffee, bagels, Dubai Croissants and Shakshuka. Literally 3 mins walk away from the villa, highly recommended.

Although on the one hand being right on the main beach road is great for the bus etc, it is constantly busy and the main bedroom which has windows onto the alley to enter the Villa picks up a lot of road noise. If you are a light sleeper, pop some ear plugs in. When we were there the mosquitos were rather vicious so just make sure you either cover up or wear strong repellent when sitting outside after dark. The Villa itself has mozzie repellents in the rooms.

Exceptional place and wonderful host. Professional cleans provided throughout the stay. Welcome basket and champagne on arrival was a wonderful touch. Short 25 min walk to Rhodes town but lots of amenities around locally. We rented a car which we’d recommend to get the most out of the trip as there’s so many lovely places to visit. No private parking but lots of safe and convenient parking right outside.
