The Forest at Mount Congreve Gardens

Beautiful accommodations, lovely views out the breakfast room and living room windows. Very spacious.

Noise from the road interrupted the peaceful and tranquil surroundings when outside on the patio but was not bothersome when inside or when in the bedroom sleeping.

The Forrest cabins are tucked away on the Mount Congreve Estate and come fully equipped for a relaxing stay.

I thought the hot tub could have been warmer but understand it can’t be for safety reasons. Also important to note it’s a hot tub and not a jacuzzi so no jets.

The Gardens - obviously Just beautiful - I got the very end of the Magnolia blooms so I would recommend mid March if you want to catch them in their glory. The grounds are just magical. So many secret paths to roam and explore - I was like a child again. Hard to believe that this piece of heaven was curated by the work of human hands. The Accommodation - wow! If you're looking for something special, look no further. I stayed in the courtyard suite. The attention to detail in the restoration is just stunning. The record player with the James Bond soundtracks (a bit scratchy in places but that just added to it, for me). The honesty bar - the donations all go back into maintaining Mount Congreve Estate. Bicycles that guests can take onto the greenway, and you get the code for the gates so you can enter the gardens after public visitor hours. Unbelievable. The room itself is stunning. The bed is very comfortable with Irish owned bed linen and super comfy pillows and mattress. The bathroom is fabulous - do note though that the bath is purely for housing the shower and is non functioning. Don't let that put you off though - you won't find many hotel rooms like this one. The Cafe/Restaurant Delicious food and fabulous service. I had both dinner and breakfast there. Local produce, different twist on Eggs Benedict and the tartare sauce with my fish and chips was to die for. I couldn't fault it. The People I loved that so many of the staff seemed to be young, local people. The girls at the entrance to the gardens were so warm and friendly and professional. Frank in the cafe/restaurant - a great welcome for diners coming in, always checking everyone is being looked after. Staff seem very happy and helpful. Mary the accommodation manager was just brilliant. Nothing was a problem. Felt like you were visiting people you already know. I will be back to Mount Congreve for sure. Congratulations on what they have achieved.

The property itself was gorgeous. The cabin was clean and spacious. The hot was lovely and warm. Couldn’t fault it.

Unfortunately I left a sentimental piece of jewellery in the pod. We were over 2 hours on our way home when I realised, to which I text the number I had used to contact the property during my stay. Stating I had lost it exactly where it was and I would pay for postage back. I never received a reply, I rang numerous times to which I was told I would receive a call back or that they had to talk to other cleaners. After nearly three weeks of me ringing three times a week. I received a text saying they have not found my necklace. For such a reputable company I was extremely disappointed with their communication skills and how my necklace just disappeared.
