The hotel was in an excellent location with every amenity necessary in the rooms. Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend.

Fridge was a bit too loud during the night but I guess that’s my problem that I can’t sleep with sounds.

The friendly staff; the excellent location and the view from our room; the kitchen equipment (apart from the coffee machine)
It was too warm at night even with the thermostat at its lowest setting; the coffee machine was very temperamental, even when we learned the technique to use it; tv wasn’t working the first night.

The suite had three small “basic function” failures that combined into one glorious farce.
The electric bedroom blind developed free will. Twice. Late at night—at the precise moment two consenting adults had lit the romantic candles and were enjoying a private, intimate evening—the blind began to rise on its own like an overconfident theatre curtain revealing Act II to an audience that had not bought tickets. I performed an urgent, undignified sprint to the control switch while my partner executed a tactical retreat behind the nearest furniture, both of us suddenly wondering what angles exist in Edinburgh architecture. Top floor or not, it absolutely killed the mood. It did the same thing again in the morning, waking me up with a surprise sunrise.
The kettle didn’t work in the morning, so no tea/coffee. A minor issue in a normal room; in an “Executive Suite” booked for a special night, it turned breakfast-in-bed plans into orange-juice-and-regret.
The bath plug wouldn’t seal, so the bath (one of the main reasons we booked this suite) was unusable. My partner is very much a bath person, and instead she had to take a shower.
Staff were informed at check-out. Overall: lovely idea of a room, but the maintenance gremlins were clocked in and thriving.
