Ray and his crew were very nice. We were aware that staying on a boat was never going to be like a 5 star hotel, we were pleasantly surprised though at how quickly Ray dealt with our issues (which were down to mechanical issues and not anyone's fault at all) It was cosy, the small heater and the heating on the boat were sufficient for our needs (it was early April, weather was mild but not too warm at night) Take a hot water bottle as well and you'll be fine. The toilet and shower facilities may be a bit unusual if you've never experienced staying in a motor-home, or similar accommodation, before. But the water is hot and, when the toilet works, its just a bit noisy. Great location for getting your head down at night, it's much quieter than staying in Amsterdam city. We also had the chance to explore some really beautiful Dutch towns nearby. If you go into Weesp and follow the canal, you will eventually find windmills, canal locks, and some lovely Dutch architecture. It was really nice to wander along the canal and see how the Dutch live.
Our little boat was hemmed in by other boats, like a bunch of penguins huddled round each other. It was very good during the storm as we were more protected, however, there was no view of a river/canal/sea. We enjoyed our stay but were wary of other reviews we had seen. This isn't a 5-star hotel. We never expected it to be, just leaving this here for those of you who haven't experience staying in accommodation like this. If you are someone who needs your hotel luxuries then this is not for you.

Friendly host, lovely boat. Everything was smooth with heating and water, which for some reason surprised mešŸ˜… We also had a very good sleep! Location is close to the train station. We don’t drink, but complimentary water and wine were nice touch.
Unfortunately toilet on the boat was broken, but the host gave us the key to the building with proper toilet. No hairdryer (but it was not promised, so that’s fine). Also consider the month of your trip, we went in April and had no issue with spiders or any insects, however it can be plenty of spiders in August, for example.

The bed was sooooo comfortable. Staying in a boat is a really unique and charming experience, and we feel grateful to have that opportunity. Kind hosts. Watching the sunrise from the boat was magical. This place has a lot of potential to be a cozy winter cabin on the water with just a few adjustments. Safe and only a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. It was mostly great for us because we love camping, don’t expect feeling like you are in a hotel, bnb, or someone’s beloved home.
Musky moldy smell (especially in the cabinets under the sink). Strong chemical use to clean bathroom. Curtains not dark enough so the light from the outside building shines right into the bed area. Bathroom is outside the room and down some steep stairs. We had plumbing issues with the kitchen sink, shower and toilet. The host was able to take care of the sink issue right away but the shower and toilet was not fixed, (the issue with the toilet was on a Sunday so it makes sense that no one could fix it quickly, for the shower we needed to use a plunger to keep it from flooding) No proper heating just a small space heater that is not enough for winter weather. Old scratched up teflon pan and plastic cooking utensils (I suggest changing these as they are known carcinogens). We are young so it was easy for us to get in and out of the bed, but I think it would be difficult for older people as it is high up and there is only a small bench to get up, no ladder/stairs.
