The location of the property was absolutely perfect and everything was included inside that you could possibly need for a stay away. The beds are super comfortable and the place was spotless on arrival, very easy to communicate with the host and nothing has been too much trouble. would highly recommend and definitely will be stopping again

Overall, the place had a bit of a 1970s safe-house vibe—quirky, but not necessarily in a good way. On the upside, the owners were in touch quickly after booking to let us know the access details, and very responsive and to action our requests to adjust the heating. There’s a local shop nearby (walking distance) and it’s only a short drive to Lidl, which was handy.
Parking for 2–3 cars is convenient, and the CCTV and Ring doorbell add a sense of security. The sheets were clean, and there were plenty of soft, fresh towels. Hot water was reliable, the kettle worked, and there was plenty of cutlery and crockery available. The WiFi worked fine for phones, and the exposed fireplace in the kitchen was a lovely feature. However, the kitchen table had definitely seen better days, as had the paintwork.
The property has potential, but it’s definitely in need of a refresh. The paintwork and carpets are tired, and the overall cleanliness could be improved, particularly the sofa, which was questionable. The fridge only seemed to offer the options of lukewarm or frozen solid, and the TV despite the promise of a FireStick was limited to just ITV or Channel 4 in reality. Around the front door and in the hallway, there was a lingering aroma which the numerous plug-in air fresheners provided could not cover. Heating was controlled by the owners at first and was generously very warm, and the shower although hot required serious strength to turn on (and even more to turn off). There were also some dodgy-looking stains on the wall next to the toilet.
