Silverstone Downtown Center Long-Stay Home in Vancouver

The studio apartment/room was very well equipt (specifically the kitchen), comfortable and very clean. It is also accessible from metro and on foot to Canada place, convention center, Gas Town and shopping. Lots of places to eat and grocery store (albeit quite expensive) is within 5 min. walking distance. Also wheelchair accessible. A fantastic ramen place is just around the corner and lots of place nearby to rent a bicycle. It has everything for a week vacation stay in Vancouver.

For business travellers however, what is missing is a comfortable place to sit and work on the computer. The small dining table was good but the chair would be too hard to sit on for more than 1 hour. A pragmatic solution: using an extra pillow from the bed. A major inconvenience is trying to get the receipt of payment. Booking only issues an automatic receipt for the whole amount. Getting one directly from the hotel took 1 week. As the hotel apparently only issues receipts after check-out although I paid before arrival, I asked for the receipt the day before check-out as the office would be closed when I checked out. I was told that it would be sent via email. After asking and asking, the receipt was finally sent but unfortunately not for the complete amount due to 20% gov. tax, and I should get an invoice from booking.com. Diffulty is that booking apparently is able to only issue automatic receipts for the whole payment. If you need an invocie from the hotel directly, be prepared.

Room was comfy. Very convenient having washer and dryer inside the unit (laundry detergent provided). Having full kitchen with stove top and oven, and dishwasher was also great. Location was central (but those not familiar with Vancouver downtown might have a different opinion).

It would have been handy to know ahead of time that the front desk is open from 9am to 6pm. We got there at 7am so couldn’t get into the building or contact anyone via WhatsApp (we killed 2 hours in a nearby coffee shop before we could drop our luggage off). Water pressure was a bit on the low side.

It feels like home. It's comfy and a nice mountain view.

There are missing some items listed on amenities. But it's all right.

The apartment was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Not very comfortable, the balcony overlooked an alleyway that was used by junkies and wasn't pleasant and was very dark. Nothing like the photos used on the website.
