About this cottage rental
Lydia's River Cottage is open plan downstairs, fully central heated with a remote control living flame gas stove to provide a nice cosy focal point on cooler days. There is a 40 inch Smart Super HDTV and a DAB radio.
The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven with ceramic hob above and a microwave oven.
The rear door leads onto a large elevated riverside patio directly above the river Greta, which is private and has spectacular river views.Relaxed outdoor dining can be combined with wildlife viewing (binoculars supplied). Ducks, goldeneye, mergansers, herons, white throated dippers and grey wagtails are common and the rarer sightings include kingfishers and otters.
Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms - a double bedroom to the rear of the property which overlooks the river and a twin bedded room to the front with views towards Walla Crag.
The modern shower room washbasin and toilet are upstairs, as the cottage has no bath the owners installed a large shower with choice of monsoon or normal showering.
Parking for the cottage is private, off road and large enough for two cars.
WiFi is complementary and unlimited approx 16Mbps.

Lovely cottage situated just far enough out of town with bus stops and a pub nearby. Very well equipped. Lovely outside area overlooking river which would be perfect for having a drink on a summer evening.

Fabulous weekend break in a spotless, cosy and modern cottage. Would definitely recommend staying here. Only a short walk into Keswick and there is a shop just opposite for any essentials. The sound of the river outside is so peaceful. Go ahead and book it!

Great location for walking in to Keswick town. Very comfortable and homely cottage. Although weather didn’t allow the outdoor patio area was lovely over looking the river. Smart tv was great so too the wood burner effect gas fire. Parking on the cottage’s driveway very convenient.

Lydias Cottage is one of the nicest cottages we have rented in the Lake District, great location for walking into town or up Latrigg, directly opposite a spar shop ( very handy ) , car parking space , and superb bosch appliances , beautiful crockery including a teapot and lovely furnishings.
We were lucky to have a dry sunny week and were able to enjoy the outside seating at the front and dining area at the back . The only points lost in the above score are purely because we couldn't sleep for the heat, a summer duvet option would be perfect in the double room which does get very hot . However we had beautiful weather so its not a complaint , the cottage was superb, and we would very much like to return .
If you have a dog, the town field is very close by , and there is plenty outside secure space at the front of the cottage in the lovely tidy garden to dry/clean the dog prior to coming in . Easy to get keys from key safe on arrival and again on departure, very organised and easy for a relaxing stay . It is a well cared for & well cleaned property which is sometimes hard to find .
For coffee lovers , there is a cafetiere provided rather than a coffee machine which is deal .
