Villa Bougainville

The location near the main Street in Saint Servan is excellent and the property is very spacious, which makes it perfect for groups. The home is furnished with a lot of beautiful classic and modern pieces - you can see that a lot of love and creativity went into the décor. I appreciate that it was possible to make the rooms really dark for sleeping. The kitchen was well-outfitted for cooking for and serving a large group, and there was a grill for barbecue.

The house is in need of some maintenance. Some of the drawers in the kitchen were broken, the patio door handle had fallen off completely, the seal on the fridge didn't work properly, and the garden was getting overgrown so we had to trim some plants back to make the table outside fully usable. We were there at the end of summer, which is surely a period when the house is intensively used, but overall, it felt like the owner wasn't keeping pace with the house's maintenance needs. Even on a deeper level, one could see that some larger projects, like updating some of the house's antique electrical outlets and lightswitches, are overdue. Also, everyone in our group agreed that the beds weren't especially comfortable - some too hard, some were too soft and sagged in the middle. Finally, the 10am checkout time seemed unreasonably early to me for such a large house - especially since they ask you to have all dishes dried and put away, the beds stripped, and the trash taken out. In a large group, especially with kids, this makes for a hectic early start on the last day. It would be nice to have an extra hour or two to get that all accomplished.

En retrait des bruits de la rue, la maison est calme, spacieuse et confortable. Une salle d'eau à chaque niveau a été très apprécié ainsi que, lors de la montée de la température extérieure, la fraicheur des pièces du rez de chaussée. La cuisine est grande, très bien équipée et fonctionnelle. La présence de places de stationnement non payantes à moins de 100 mètres est un point fort ainsi que la relative proximité avec la plage et la ville close de Saint-Malo.

Petits points de détails pour parfaire la location : lors de notre séjour, l'éclairage du salon était hors service. Le mobilier rustique (magnifique) des chambres présente parfois quelques dysfonctionnements (serrure bloquée, bronze mal fixé) et une plinthe dans la chambre pour enfant se décolle du mur.

L emplacement était très proche des commerces et à 20mn à pied de Saint Malo La maison très grande avec 3 salles de bain Sur 2 étages Correspond bien au descriptif Le petit plus le jardin et BBQ pour l été Le coin salon est bien agencé et simpa avec sa table de salon peu commune

La petite odeur de fuel mais qui est atténué grâce à des prises parfumées
