12/10 Villa Ljubica exceeds all the expectations. I’ve travelled a lot but this was a unique experience of a great hospitality and warm atmosphere. Villa Ljubica is family owned in 4th generation and the owners really made us feel like home when we spent our days on a sunny terrace enjoying the magnificent scenery to the mountains and sea. The elegant decor is harmonious with the villa’s long history. Vegan traveling is often difficult but here our needs were met by every detail and even more. Villa Ljubica is a vegan paradise and a true harbor of peace.

You hope when you book a stay with such excellent reviews that it will up to your expectations. Villa Ljubica surpassed them. My husband and I were greeted upon arrival by the family and treated to a very welcome traditional evening meal. They made us feel like family members visiting rather than paying guests. The views were stunning and the rooms 5 star. The food magnificent. One of the most recent reviews did an in depth analysis of his stay which sums up everything.
A great place to get away from the stress of modern living to chill, rest and regroup.
We absolutely loved the island, the accommodation but especially the hosts.

If I could give a 11 star rating, I would, so let's just try to sum up everything about this wonderful, amazing place. Don't be confused about (so far) small number of reviews, this was their first summer after the extensive rennovation.
PRO TIP #1: Do not book an accommodation in Dubrovnik and visit the surroundings from there, book it here and visit Dubrovnik from here. It's super easy and affordable, there are several public transport speedboats a day and I guarantee you won't find a nicer place and nicer hosts.
This level of hospitality we haven't experienced anywhere, not even close. The house itself is amazing, it has been carefully restored to reflect the historical heritage, while having all the modern amenities you might need. Believe me, the pictures can’t fully describe how gorgeous everything is. But what makes it truly special is the wonderful hosts, endlessly nice and kind and there for you at any moment. They met us with a more than nice meal after our trip, they go out of their way to prepare something different (and utterly delicious) for breakfast every morning, using fresh, local and homemade ingredients (they are the family of professional fishermen, it doesn’t get fresher and more local than this). There were two other couples staying there and the hostesses felt sorry for us on a stormy evening (so no one could go to one of fantastic restaurants in the village) and they prepared a fantastic three-course dinner for all of us.
PRO TIP #2: The house is on the hill and is easily accessible by car, but the road is very steep at some places, which could be a bit problematic if you have a lower car with a longer wheelbase (I’m not sure I could’ve made it with my old Alfa 159). In that case, it might be smarter to leave the car parked (for free, I believe) at the ferry port, and the hosts will be happy to pick you up there.
*ABSOLUTELY NO NEGATIVE STUFF - AS I RAN OUT OF SPACE FOR THE REVIEW, I'LL CONTINUE WITH IT HERE:
As for the island itself, if you’re looking for a calm and peaceful holiday, this is it. No party stuff, just a perfect relaxation. There’s another village on the opposite end of the island, absolutely worth visiting (the village itself is gorgeous, a bit bigger than Suđurađ, with more dining options and the fantastic Priježba beach – google it!), either by renting a bicycle, with your own car or by a public transport orange minibus departing from the ferry port.
PRO TIP #3: The minibus timetable on the web is likely inaccurate, the actual one can be found at the ferry port; take a photo of it upon your arrival. Also, regarding the Priježba beach, there’s not much shade and the only available option is to rent a 2-sunbed-1-parasol combo for 30 EUR (as of 2025). If you have your own parasol, it might be a good idea to bring it with you.
Be sure to plan your meals as the shopping and dining options in Suđurađ itself are a bit limited, but with breakfast like this, the other meals become almost irrelevant 😊 In any case, I’m sure the hosts would gladly help you out in that matter, just ask them – I can’t stress enough how nice and kind and helpful they are.
PRO TIP #4: The tip you’ll also get from your hostess – make sure to bring some light sports footwear (the path is very easy) and hike to the hill peak above the house. There’s a little chapel at the top, offering a marvelous view, especially at sunset, definitely worth a short hike.
Let me just finish this review by saying this: we’ve stayed at many really nice places, several times we’ve said we’ll come again. This is the only time we’re absolutely certain we will.
