The property was very clean and matched the photos advertising the house. The space in the kitchen/dining/games' area was perfect for our gathering of nine friends, and the views from the patio across the Somerset countryside were beautiful - including spectacular sunsets.However, the house was inadequately resourced for nine people, let alone the twelve it accommodates. There was only one large cooking pot, no serving dishes or jugs. Chopping boards were tiny, knives were blunt and the cooker vent was blocked. Sharing two bathrooms between nine people was difficult to co-ordinate. It is certainly not sufficient for twelve people. We felt that the toilet next to the kitchen could easily be converted to contain a shower to ease the problem. There were no mattress protectors on beds, which we felt was unhygienic. There was only one key for the property, although there were several doors accessing all parts of the garden. Due to the sprawling layout of the property, we felt this could be a fire risk.We have contacted the property owners, who said if we had got in touch, they would have rectified the problems, but as we were only staying two nights over a weekend, I doubt that they would have been able to sort everything out in time for us to be able to make full use of any enhancements. I only hope that they have taken onboard our lengthy suggestions for improvements, so by the time future guests arrive, they may enjoy a hassle-free stay.
