Love the Victorian atmosphere.
Room was very romantic. Bed is comfortable and spacious bathroom. You can walk to old town shops and restaurants.

Wonderful stay but you should inform people of double rooms only on 3rd floor with no lift. Next time I will book a bottom floor .

We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and wanted to stay somewhere special that didn't break the bank. The National was an incredible deal! So elegant, beautiful, clean and in an ideal location to explore Nevada City. And the staff were all very nice and super helpful. We enjoyed hanging out on the balcony overlooking Broad Street and had two wonderful meals at Lola's, their inhouse restaurant.
Our room had hardwood floors (so clean) and a gorgeous bathroom with an incredible shower.
We were on the third floor and there's no elevator, but the nice young man at the front desk asked if we needed help with our bags (we didn't). It really was an exceptional stay.

There's nothing about this place I wouldn't recommend! FIVE STARS at the minimum. Bed and bedding are some of the best I've ever had!!!
