We stayed at Charly’s Suite (on the ground floor) for 2 nights. It’s simply lovely.
The bedroom looks towards the kitchen which has a little glass roof so light enters and illuminates the room, waking you up naturally!
Of course if you use the curtains to close off the windows (looking into the kitchen), you will be in utter darkness.
As this is a historic building where they’ve done their best at soundproofing, you will hear your neighbours upstairs when they walk or talk. Sometimes the reception too, but this is a minor problem.
We ordered breakfast with them at €19 each and had it in our brand new kitchen, where we had our own Nespresso with 4 daily capsules replenished.
The lobby is cozy but is closed after certain hours, the same with the reception but there is a mobile no. to reach out to if there is a necessity.
Also we managed to have a late check out at 1pm for €25.
The location is amazing. You are surrounded by it all!
The only thing about this boutique hotel is there is a lack of basics (considering it is a presidential suite), only a 2 in 1 body and shower gel in the shower, 3 boxes of vanity set and 2 set of ear plugs. No slippers, no bathrobes, no toothbrush set so please bring your own (which we did)!
But the 4 ply toilet paper was a great touch, thank you!

Couldn’t be happier with my decision to stay here. What a beautiful period property. Hotel is of a very high standard and the room was sensational. View over picturesque canal was a bonus. Highly recommended
