Hyatt Place Austin Airport

We booked this room last minute and drove in from Dallas. It was a short and pleasant stay and a good location for what we planned to do. The hotel is secure with access gates upon entering and exiting. The free breakfast was simple but filling. The staff were kind and prompt to help with anything. I recommend staying here if you need to be close to the airport.

This hotel had my car towed the day before Christmas. I was a guest for 8 weeks. I had no car until the night before I was checking out and leaving the state. I rented a car and parked my rental in an open space outside the front door. Later I went to go to dinner with my daughter for her birthday. My car was gone. I didn’t know if it was stolen. The front desk took 30 minutes to determine it had been towed. I was told I parked in a short term loading space. I went outside and saw a small sign that said 10 minute loading. A very small sign that was not even in front of the space. It did not meet any of the code requirements for due process. It said nothing about towing. I spent 2 hours and 350 dollars getting my car back. I was outraged. I talked to the manager, ***, in the morning. He said they didn’t tow my car. He literally said the company towed my car. Unbelievable. I told him I had informed the front desk about my rental and gave them my license plate the day before. I said how can you tow a guest’s car without notifying them? How hard would that be? He said the tow company is allowed to drive the lot and tow any cars away without asking the hotel or the hotel even asking for a tow. I was shocked. I told him that sounds like he must get a kick back. I asked for a refund. He said he would. He went into the computer and said he refunded it while I was standing there. I never received the refund. How cowardly. I would never stay at this hotel again. I will be forwarding this complaint to Marriott management.

This was perfect overnight lodging to catch an early morning flight, including the closest possible location. The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfast good (6AM) and the shuttle runs every 15 minutes.

After reserving a King bed room 10 months in advance, only queen rooms were available. Then the door keys wouldn't work and the manager stated all were all bad-she had to come let us in.
