    I have been staying at the shade hotel for years. Every time I book the Hotel (direct or through an affiliate), I seem to get assigned an outdated room. That said, you’re paying for the location and the staff are super friendlu. They need to finish renovating the rooms though. It’s been going on for about two years now.

    We really liked the hotel. If you are new to the area, this hotel is a very long walk to the beach. However, it is in a great spot for a quick ride to Hermosa and Manhattan Beach. The staff was very nice. We did have an issue with the a/c and had to change rooms, but they made it very easy for us to move when we wanted. There are little things that they could do to improve the hotel. For example, we stayed in the suite which had to balcony views. However, the balconies we not cleaned and there were no chairs to sit and enjoy the view or relax. Otherwise, we would stay there again.
