The villas are stunning but not very practical. Something needs to be done about the lighting, too low, hard to see anything. The brightest lights are on top of the bed where they aren’t needed. Also, we had the farthest villa from the facilities and it wasn’t nice to walk over the mud after the rain, it would be nice to create a tiled path or something to reach the villas without getting dirty. I appreciated all the products left to help out with the mosquitoes. Breakfast selection a bit poor and not a lot of attention to tables (like missing cutleries and napkins). The restaurant is really good. The view, beach and pool are also really nice! The staff was kind. Overall I was expecting more attention to details considering the high price.

Wonderful Resort , 15 minutes away from the small yao noi town. On the main rd theres a very nice cafeteria that serves tasty food , bites and milkshakes Has small pool & a gym at its sister hotel hornbill. Nearby is also changs shop for small groceries and after changs shop which is on right side on the main rd is A beautiful pizza restaurant .Overall a wonderful place to be. Location is ideal. Privacy is hands down for each beach villa. Staff are very responsive.

The food at pum pui is delicious! The service can be slow, but it's nice to have a more relaxed pace enforced sometimes. As long as you have the bug spray to not be food yourself. 😂 The key to enjoying Koyao Island resort imo is learning how to manage the mosquitoes. If you, like me, are Beloved Of Bugs, then you will likely need to wear bug spray as soon as the sun starts setting. They provide plenty of natural citronella based bug spray, but I found this was not a strong enough repellant to protect me. The soffell-brand mosquito spray you see in all pharmacies across Thailand worked great though! You just have to be willing to put up with the skin texture enough to sleep in it 😫 luckily there is a gorgeous outdoor shower in the private walled backyard of every villa, which made the process of rinsing off sweat and bug spray multiple times a day a true delight. My first night here, we arrived with a suitcase full of sweaty clothes, and decided to try just running the fan instead of the A/C. Big mistake. Turns out mosquitoes are attracted to the smell of sweat, and many of them got into the mosquito net throughout the night, a situation only worsened by attempting to hide under the blankets. I did not sleep well that night, and seriously considered booking elsewhere. Luckily, when I asked for help from the front desk, they had housekeeping apply an additional spray throughout the room. This combined with enough a/c to avoid sweating through the night, wearing bug spray, and laundering all those sweaty clothes, made it so that I was able to sleep through the night! Another thing to note was that I was recovering from a throat infection, so my throat was easily irritated by the mosquito foggers they set in the rooms. The smoke actually smells great, I just was in the unlucky position where breathing it would make me cough and keep me awake as well. The second night onwards, we moved one out of the room and relied on bug spray to make up the difference. The bug spray made me cough too, but only on application. The mosquito net does create a degree of separation from the view, but being able to wake up and walk across the yard to the beach for sunrise was amazing. Rooms are well spaced from each other, but unfortunately everyone has clear visibility into your room when walking by, so if you want to take full advantage of the romantic view you're better off booking 9 hornbills, which is adults only. We adored finding a frog in our lamp when we first checked in. The room is kept incredibly clean, given that the glass walls aren't sealed to the roof and there are open vents in the doors, so critter friends are free to come and go as they please. They stay out of the way if you're not looking for them, but we definitely were looking for them! We found a friendly little rat snake behind the tissue box on night two, and a snail companion behind the toilet in our bathroom. The floors have a beautifully smooth and cool texture to walk on; I still want to know what kind of wood they used! The Koyao facial they offer at the spa is a delicious and relaxing multisensory experience, I highly recommend it and will be trying to replicate parts of it at home! Overall, it's an unbeatable price for a semi-private, quiet, direct beachfront location facing the sunrise, and that absolves many of the difficulties I had adjusting. I got the sense that I got exactly my money's worth overall. A thing to note on that- with my discount booking, the transfer to the island was not included. If you book through the front desk they'll book a 6000bht private longtail for you depending on your time of availability. There's a cheaper 650bht fare to manao pier, but the last boat out from ao nang is around 3pm, so be sure to plan your day accordingly.

Room was too warm - should have a bigger kitchen/refrigerator- small refrigerator did not keep beverages cold - Cold water didn’t work in outside shower - was too hot to shower in for more than 30 seconds - mosquitoes were bad and the spray fogging was not pleasant in the room for 30-45 min - only one fan for the property - should have 2-4 fans inside and outside fan was not effective
