About this cottage rental

Nyth y Wennol Cottage (‘Swallow’s Nest’) is a superb Welsh country cottage and converted stone barn, located on Cardigan Bay in the village of Llanarth, Ceredigion. Set in a tranquil location and providing accommodation for a relaxing holiday, whilst allowing you to explore the delights of this unspoilt area of Wales.

Llanarth has a pub, post office, garden centre and Spar shop, and is less than 2 miles to the north of the wonderful seaside town of New Quay.

New Quay itself is one of the real highlights of the area, a classic Welsh harbour town with colourful houses, sweeping views across Cardigan Bay and a friendly, laid back atmosphere. It’s famous for its resident bottlenose dolphins, which can often be spotted from the harbour wall or on one of the many boat trips that run daily in the warmer months. The long stretches of golden sand make it perfect for paddling, beach games or simply relaxing with the sound of the waves.

No visit is complete without enjoying a proper seaside chippy, with freshly cooked fish and chips eaten overlooking the water, or treating yourself to a locally made ice cream as you wander along the pier. The town has a lovely mix of cafés, pubs and small shops, giving it a welcoming charm that appeals to families, walkers and anyone who loves the coast.

There are plenty of things to see and do further afield: visit Aberystwyth and ride the Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge; find one of the many picturesque villages along Cardigan Bay, such as Llangrannog and Aberporth; or travel south to the Teifi Valley, Preseli Hills and Pembrokeshire. With so much natural beauty, wildlife and coastline to explore, the area offers something special for every visitor.
