About this bed and breakfast
Birillina al Poggio is a bright and spacious house with a furnished terrace and views of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, specifically the Pania di Corfino and the Villetta-Poggio railway bridge, which can also be crossed on foot. We are just steps from the Romanesque Church of San Biagio, one of the oldest in the Garfagnana and Serchio Valley.
We are located at the end of the 5th stage of Via Vandelli, an ancient commercial road built in the mid-18th century to connect Modena (capital of the duchy of the same name) and Massa. Via Vandelli was thus named in honor of its creator and builder, engineer, geographer, and court mathematician Domenico Vandelli, who was commissioned to conceive and design a new road layout that was ahead of its time.
We are in the heart of the Serchio Valley, an ideal starting point for beautiful hikes or walks.
