Charmantes Feriendomizil, Haus mit Garten 30 km Bonn und Koblenz, 3 bis zu 8 Personen

The house is in a good location, in a beautiful environment. By car it is easy to reach both Bonn and Koblenz. The ferry to cross the Rhine river is also very easy, though you have to pay a small fee to use it. It was easy to park the car in a nearby public parking lot. Arrival was smooth. On the day before arrival, the host asked me to contact him through WhatsApp. When I did, he sent instructions on how to get the key to the house. Those were easy to follow. Note that you have to climb the stairs to get to the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped, though I missed a pair of scissors. Bed linen and towels are provided. The WiFi was good.

The name of the accommodation says it should accommodate 3 to 8 persons, but I think it is more suitable for up to 4 people. The description and pictures are misleading. There are multiple pictures from the same rooms with different furniture arrangements, so it looks like there are more rooms than there really are. I booked the apartment because I thought it would have 3 separate bedrooms next to the kitchen and living room. But actually it only has 2 separate bedrooms with 2 single beds each, and then there are 2 more single beds in the living room. This makes the living room feel more like a bedroom with a sofa in it, than as an actual living room. Also the table in the kitchen only has 4 chairs, so you cannot easily have dinner together with a group of more than 4 people. My first impression was that the apartment was clean, but could use some maintenance. It smelled musty when we entered it. The kitchen and one of the bedrooms have windows that cannot be opened, so fresh air cannot easily flow through these rooms. A couple of door handles are loose, so if you pull too hard it feels like they could fall off. The garden is in a shabby state and smells bad (most likely because of trash that has been left there too long). The table football is nice, but the swing and trampoline are in a deteriorated state. I'd rather not let small children use those. There was still laundry in the washing machine. The window in one of the bedrooms does not have curtains. It is covered with non-transparent foil, so people cannot look through the window, but the light does come through. In the living room the windows have roller blinds, but those from the door to the terrace are broken. So also there, light sleepers may wake up from the sunlight. The house is in a quiet place, but you do hear the bells of the nearby church and every morning at 7:30 AM those bells ring for a long time.
