About this house rental
Escape to the tranquility of our charming guesthouse which can sleep up to 7 people and is nestled in the lush woods located near Discovery Bay just outside of Port Townsend, WA. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway or a family retreat, this peaceful haven promises to provide a memorable experience.
The space
The house itself can sleep up to four and has two bedrooms with a queen-size bed in each and 2 bathrooms, one en-suite with a shower and the other in the hallway with tub/shower. The property itself can host up to 7 people by adding on the detached bunkhouse which has full-size bunk beds and a sleeper sofa plus a half bath.
***BUNKHOUSE***
The bunkhouse is an additional $40 per night. Please let us know if you would like to add the bunkhouse on to your stay and we will have it ready for you upon arrival and a key code will be provided. Regardless of your parties size, we ask that you let us know in advance if you need access to the bunkhouse.
The newly remodeled kitchen invites you to whip up nourishing meals using local ingredients from Port Townsend's farmer's market, Chimacum Farmstand or local grocers. Modern appliances, quality cookware, and ample counter space make home cooking a delight. Enjoy your culinary creations in the adjacent dining area with seating for four while looking out at the fully wooded surroundings.
Outside the back deck is a brand new jetted hot tub with LED display, strong therapeutic jets, and complete privacy. Lounge in the hot tub while looking out at the forest or up at the stars! There is also a brand new barbecue grill and a four person dining table with umbrella on a large cedar patio deck for outdoor entertaining.
When you stay at Discovery Bay Retreat you will have plenty of privacy as you will be safely nestled in the woods on our beautiful 11 acre property. And across the road there are over 200 acres of protected Department of Natural Resources land that offers public access with walking trails for forest bathing and exploration.
Our home is located just under 15 minutes from downtown Port Townsend and offers easy access to many breathtaking outdoor activities, including kayak rental, hiking, boating, whale watching, and more. The ferry located in downtown Port Townsend will take you directly to Whidbey Island for a fun day trip exploring all that the island has to offer. Bring your bikes to enjoy the Olympic Discovery Trail with the Larry Scott Trailhead located nearby. Other fun day trips include the Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge, Dungeness Spit, Crescent Lake, and Neah Bay.

Guest access
You will have full use of the home, except for the detached garage (and bunkhouse unless needed for additional guests), and you will be given personalized access via a keypad. There is ample parking right next to the cottage for up to four vehicles. We live on the property in the main house located at the end of the driveway and will always respect your privacy.

The property was wonderful, clean, and a dream to cook in! The kitchen’s cookware was fantastic. It had everything we needed for a relaxing retreat with old friends.

The house location is woodsy and quiet, and convenient to Port Townsend. The accommodations were very nice with everything we needed. We had 6, so added the Bunk House. Everyone was comfortable and we all agreed we would book it if visiting the area again.

The Annual Scrabble Gals Getaway was just delightful. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this off the beaten track location, with an easy drive to Port Townsend. Spotlessly clean and well appointed we enjoyed cocktails and coffee on the deck surrounded by tall trees. We reveled in the vintage vinyl collection, played board games and soaked in the hot tub. Beds were comfortable and we lacked for nothing.
