We loved the place! Very clean and had everything we needed. Large living spaces. Well equipped kitchen with full size appliances. A separate laundry area. Comfortable bedrooms. Great host to work with.
We chose the place partly based on its location. It was centrally located to the things we wanted to do. We drove towards Shelton to shellfish at Oakland Bay where we got our limits of manila clams and oysters (before going, be sure to check the WDFW/DOH website to make sure it's open).
There's a Walmart in Shelton. Nearby Belfair has a great Safeway.
Another day we drove to Gig Harbor where we got beautiful views of Mt. Rainier over the harbor. We also had lunch at Anthony's and toured the nautical museum. On two other days, we attended Seattle Mariners games. We are rural folks who don't like city traffic. It was an easy drive to Bremerton where we left our car in a parking garage and walked to the nearby ferry. It's only $2 for the smaller passenger-only Kitsap Fast Ferry (30 minutes to Seattle) and free for the WSDOT ferry (an hour). (The return trip is $12 for the fast ferry, and $10.75 for the regular ferry; more, of course, if you want to put your vehicle on the regular ferry) Then it's an easy walk to T-Mobile Park (baseball) or Lumen Field (football).
I highly recommend Stay By the Bay for whatever you may have planned.
