Arriving by car into a foreign city centre can be challenging, but it is WELL WORTH IT. This apartment is simply amazing! Even if you wouldn't want to live in a city, this place convinces you that maybe you could. Too many flats are decorated in a modern, bizarre way that only really appeals to the owner, but this places oozes a gentle, warm sophistication, with it's old fashioned decor and incredible number of books! There's no bling or anything flashy, you can just imagine a well-off, but not ostentatious family living here. It perfectly matches the view from the shared living room - the historic Governor's Palace directly opposite and the grand old Theatre to the left.
Our host Antonio is a vintner (try a bottle for free!) and very kind after we got lost in our car in the side streets. He gave us many tips on the things to do and there is great info laid out in the apartment. The Peperoncino restaurant is a highlight - great value lovely food, with friendly staff & clientele. Get your FREE breakfast at the fun Distillo cafe on
the square.
The local streets have a bit too many of those high end little Italian clothes shops, but there is the odd surprise like a guitar store! It's still fun to promenade around the district. Not too many cafes nearby, but you can sit outside and have a beer or ice cream at the pasticceria directly below the apartment building.
PARKING INFO: The local parking machines are meant to take credit cards but they don't! Putting in coins is a pain and it only lasts till 8am (control time is 8-21.00). Get the Easy Park app and pay each night after 9pm and you'll get the whole 24 hrs till the next evening - no getting up early to renew. The street nearest with the most spaces is Via IV Novembre - walk to the Governor's Palace then turn left, then right.

Potenza is a great town to visit. This apartment was amazing and right in the center of town. It was well appointed and we wished we had stayed more than one night. We highly recommend this place.
Parking. It isn’t convenient nor is it close. It was even worse because there was a comic convention in town and there was no parking anywhere in the city. We had to park at the bottom of the hill. Luckily we found the longest elevators we had ever seen that took us back up to the top. It was not so bad, but quite a hike with luggage
