Bedrooms a bit on the small size

Regular visitor to Bailieborough but my first time staying in the hotel. Staff are lovely as always so attentive etc cocktails were lovely, room was really nice, my partner said it was the best hotel shower he’s ever had.

We were staying down for a family communion that was being hosted in the hotel so in for a meal etc, and although the food was good I think the hotel need to have a review of their menu and understand what gluten free actually means, especially with the seriousness of coeliac disease - for example my auntie who organised the meal in the function room had told ahead of time that there were gluten free members in the party but this wasn’t reflected, so meal choices were slim. I think in 2026 salad being the only starter option just isn’t acceptable. Another example in the hotel bar the chicken wings were noted as gluten free however I was told they’re done in a shared fryer so they’re technically not. I didn’t ask at breakfast but I could also guarantee the gluten free toast was done in the same toaster as normal bread. Bed size would be something my partner would mention as at 6ft 2 he was slightly too tall for it.

Decor was good despite renovations going on the room was tastefully decorated

Back car park was dodgy with back entrance obscure and not well lite Bedroom was smaller than others we've stayed in especially the single room was not as describe 'deluxe' it was pokky and cramped
