The Old Hat Shop

Fantastic location, really comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. It had everything we needed - would highly recommend!

Everything was great but a more blacked out blind on the first floor bedroom window would be a great addition as the current one doesn’t block much light - this is very minor though!!

A nice property in the middle of Cromford, only a few doors from the village shop. With chip shops, The Boat Inn and Cromford Mill within easy walking distance. Every room in excellent condition and nicely decorated.

There is only parking on the road, so it was not possible for everyone to park by the house. The kitchen is quite tight but well equipped. Unfortunately, only one of the pubs was open as The Greyhound was looking for a manager.

The Old Hat Shop is a beautiful little cottage which has been thoughtfully refurbished and we had a very cosy and comfortable stay here. The kitchen was small but fully equipped with everything we needed and the sitting room is a lovely space for relaxing in the evenings. Beds are comfy and the outdoor space is sweet. A good jumping off point for exploring the area and some good walks from the house too.

There is a bit of road noise but it was much quieter at the weekend.

Parking was hit & miss, on the road outside, very busy popular spaces. The house was old and had stone floors which weren’t the cleanest so wasn’t great for our baby son. The stairs were so steep, almost dangerous so I’d be careful if taking youngsters/ elderly guests with you. The main road is super busy and extremely noisy so take ear plugs for bedtime. Avoid if you are wanting to cook a large meal/ Christmas meal, the kitchen is TINY and is not sufficient to cook a substantial meal.
