Town: The lovely village of Hurworth-on-Tees is a typical small village and includes a church, a number of small pubs, a shop, a pharmacy and a fish and chip shop. The Bay Horse and Rockliffe Hall, are also in the village and serve fine food. The large market town of Darlington is less than five miles away lying on the southern boundary of County Durham. A thriving town, well known for its historic railway connections, notably Stephenson’s Locomotion has made its home in the town’s Railway Museum. While Shildon and York Railway Museums are also available locally. Darlington and the surrounding villages offer a wide range of pubs and restaurants. Within Darlington there is a multiplex cinema, the Forum Music Centre and retail outlets. The famous Croft Circuit is less than two miles away and is popular with car and motorcycle enthusiasts.
