This impressive privately owned baronial style chateau located at the back of Cannes dates back to the time of Francois Premier. Originally a hunting lodge for the bishops of Brignoles it later became a holiday home to aristocracy at the time of Queen Victoria who came to visit and planted the 132 year old pine tree in the formal gardens. It was later owned by the Compte du Chambrun who married the late Raine Spencer, stepmother to Princess Diana who visited with her sons while on holidays on the Cote d'Azur. The chateau remains secluded nestled amongst pristine hilltop gardens and terraces with views of the Esterel mountains and Mediterranean sea and has been lovingly restored in recent years. The holiday home offers 12 bedrooms, 11 of which have their own bathroom, a shower room accessible for people with disabilities, a large oval swimming pool and tennis court which includes pickleball lines. A separate villa is also on site offering 3 ensuite bedrooms, open plan living areas, terrace and kitchen.
The chateau is just 25 minutes from Nice airport, 10 minutes from Cannes private airport, the Croisette, Mougins golf course and the A8 for trips to Italy or Provence.
