Atlantic Reach Holiday Village

Myself and seven other friends had a lovely stay at Atlantic Reach. The location was good and wasn’t too far away, but it’s worth noting that you do need to drive or take a taxi to places. I would also to pre-book taxis as they tend to get booked up and are not readily available; Uber isn’t well connected in the area yet. There is a train station nearby, but no footpath. The place was also spacious and was a good size for a group of eight, with large rooms, communal areas, and three bathrooms with showers in each. For the three nights, the price point was reasonable, but we did not use any of the facilities (e.g., pool, etc.), as we only used it for accommodation.

One of the downsides was the guest amenities, which were limited: no towels, hand towels, kitchen cloths, or soap—things we did not bring, and I didn’t find it clear on the booking that these would be provided. At the reception, they sold towels for £12.50 and said they could possibly get us towels for the morning for £50, so just remember to bring household essentials.

It was comfortable and met our requirements.

It would have been helpful to have known a tea towel,dish cloth and washing up liquid wouldn’t be provided as we had to go out to purchase. Only a minor detail and not a complaint.

The location was great, not too far outside of Newquay. It was very quiet, and there seemed to be good options for leisure and working out. Plenty of parking available. Plenty of workout classes available.

Wasn't clear about where to check-in from Booking.com, had to ring and confirm where check-in would be as the booking page said it would be self-check in but then the message we received nearer the day didn't have any information on it regarding check-in - it's at the leisure facility. Disappointed by not having the bare minimum basics available in the accommodation. Bath mats were available in each bathroom, but not hand towels or regular towels, which was very confusing. Dishwasher tablets, but no sponge or washing-up liquid. Pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, but no salt or pepper. Sure, it's not a hotel, but it is a holiday home, and the basics of a home were expected but weren't available. This could be made more clear in the page listing. The bathroom door handle comes out of the door when using it. Hand towel ring broken at wall fixture, bright 'white' LED lights rather than 'warm', very thin bed pillows, no smart TV, so options on TV are limited to FreeView. Booking the pool must be done in advance; most slots are for children, so adults have limited time to swim. At the start of September, the facilities went onto reduced 'winter' hours, which was disappointing and we didn't get to swim.
