The courtesy and responsiveness of the host, the bathroom that was recently renovated and the location pretty close to the center of the village.
The apartment was uncomfortably cold. We measured 17°C, with radiators barely warm and the one in the kitchen not functioning at all. There is a fireplace but, with a small toddler, we did not know how to operate it safely. The situation was made worse by old windows that let in significant drafts, forcing us to sleep wearing multiple layers to stay warm. After we raised the issue, the host promptly provided an electric heater, which was appreciated. However, it was undersized for the apartment and could only heat one room at a time.
Although the apartment was generally clean, the underside of the toilet seat was dirty, suggesting it had not been properly cleaned. Furthermore, two of the four kitchen burners were not working.
While the apartment appears cozy and partially renovated, it is clearly worn and in need of substantial upgrades. At the price being asked, it is not good value. Having stayed in Villars many times, I am familiar with the local market, and this property falls well below what should be expected.
