Genoa, well-known port city and capital of Liguria region, is historically known for its important role in maritime trade over the past centuries.
Known as one of the most extensive medieval historical centers in Europe, the heart of Genoa is a maze of alleys that unexpectedly open up into small squares, often related, like the churches overlooking them, to important noble families.
The spirit of Genoa lies in the alleys, where different smells, tastes, languages and cultures perfectly blend in.
In the historical center is the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, in Romanesque style with a black and white striped façade and frescoed interiors. Narrow streets lead to monumental squares such as the Piazza de Ferrari, with its characteristic bronze fountain, and the Carlo Felice opera house.
The Genoa aquarium, the largest in Europe, is unmissable and iconic. The exhibition itinerary shows more than 70 environments and about 12,000 specimens of 600 species, coming from all the seas of the world. An unforgettable experience for young and old, which will fill your heart with emotions and a deeper respect for the sea and its extraordinary inhabitants.
Not to be missed is Genoa’s culinary tradition, with its iconic basil pesto, famous all over the world, and the “focaccia”, which can be either salted and topped with olives, onion and tomato, or even sweet and stuffed.
The accommodation is 8 km from Genoa airport and 800 m from Genoa Principe train station.

This apartment is beautiful & in a great location. Close to the Port/train station & lots of cafes/restaurants. The owners of this apartment should reconsider their choose of property managers. We found Wonderful Italy(the property managers) not really caring about the comfort or discomfort for their clients - us the renters. It added stress & annoyance to our stay. We communicated extensively with them regarding what we needed to only be told “that is how we do it in Genoa”. At check-in it was evident the woman we were dealing with was annoyed & not friendly as she indicated she was extremely busy with other check-ins. We had only asked about local attractions which we received a curt response. Place beautiful in an older building but at the price we would not recommend due to property managers & some reasons the sleeping arrangements were uncomfortable for us.

We enjoyed our two day stay during an especially hot spell in Genoa. The apartment was very well appointed and had an easy upscale open style that we very much appreciated. We found great coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance and had a nice ride up the funicular that starts just across the street.
