About this chalet rental
Chalet Des Legendes is located in La Combe, just 30 miles from Col de la Madeleine and 20 miles from Le Grand Domaine. Guests staying at this chalet have access to a fully equipped kitchen.
La ubicación es buena para llegar a remontes en pistas, se necesita coche.
Reservamos en septiembre para la semana del 17 al 24 de enero.
Buscaba algo parecido, espacio y comodidad….las tres habitaciones, tres baños y una cocina comedor. Resultó perfecto para cuatro personas, con capacidad para varias mas. El precio lo ví muy adecuado, de iguales características superaban en mucho a este. En Booking observé las opiniones, solo había una decena y salvo una que planteó sus críticas negativas, el resto puntuaban con un notable o mas. Por ello no lo dudé. A 8 minutos de remonte de ST. Martín.
Nos presentamos en la aldea ya de noche……estaba con cantidad de nieve y hielo…peligroso el andar. Nos costó encontrar la casa, el propietario indica que estaba situada a la derecha de la iglesia, la realidad es que está justo enfrente de la puerta de acceso a esa iglesia….a unos 40 metros. Por fín la encontramos después de meter las piernas en 30 cm de nieve.
El la primera observación vimos que era adecuada. Parece que reformado no hace muchos tiempo. Planta baja con las tres habitaciones y cada una con su ducha y/o bañera…no son muy grandes pero aceptables.
La segunda planta, con acceso mediante una escalera con bastante inclinación era adecuada, cocina y salón con chimenea de unos 70 metros, cocina de gas con varios fuegos. Habilitamos un sofá para la cuarta persona, así dormimos cada uno en su espacio.
VALORACIÓN
Las características de la casa es la que esperábamos como habitáculo general. La situación esperada (aunque la aldea carece de bar u otros servicios). Poco que objetar respecto a esto.
Respecto al contenido, utensilios u otras materias:
No suelo plasmar las cuestiones negativas de forma pública, lo hago de forma privada, siempre con sentido y ánimo constructivo para su corrección. En este caso creo necesario hacerlo puesto que ya existía una crítica negativa y no veo que se haya corregido. Se debe corregir.
- Para quien llegue de noche indicar que se encuentra enfrente de la iglesia, no a la derecha, a unos 40 metros.
- La escalera de acceso se debe acondicionar por el riesgo de caída al entrar o salir, escalones deficientes.
- La limpieza se debe mejorar, alguna suciedad debajo de las camas
- Es indispensable la instalación de lavavajillas, está el hueco y la instalación.
- El grifo del posee una presión y caudal muy insuficiente..lo que añadido a carencia de lavavajillas es un gran problema.
- Las sartenes se deben cambiar, poseen mucho uso y en mal estado. Así como los cuchillos de comida se rompen por la empuñadura, hay otros pero no de mesa.
- MUY IMPORTANTE…en la planta baja la calefacción es insuficiente. En la superior es aceptable, ayudada por la chimenea.
- Los lavabos de los baños son muy reducidos, justo para lavarse las manos.
- Quizás se debe potenciar el extracto de la cocina.
- No es de recibo que debas llevar la toalla de baño.
- La fianza que se solicita, 500 euros, se debe informar antes de hacer la reserva, se hizo unos días antes cuando ya no hay vuelta atrás. Se hace mediante la página Swikly, desconocida en España…aunque luego resulta eficaz por no retraerte el dinero hasta la conformidad del propietario….te envían un enlace y con la tarjeta se hace fácil.
- No usamos lavadora ni horno.
- La escalera de acceso a segunda planta tiene demasiada inclinación, un peligro para niños y mayores, se debe instalar un agarramanos en el lado izdo. Y una puerta de bloqueo arriba para evitar accidentes de niños.
- MUY IMPORTANTE. La iluminación de cocina y salón es MUY DEFICIENTE…..se debe aumentar la luminosidad, se cocina en penumbras.
Insisto, las críticas sobre aspectos negativos las hago para corrección. Es una pena que una casa que reúne todas las condiciones de amplitud se vea empañada por cuestiones que son de fácil solución, es simplemente un poco de inversión. However the chalet is beautiful and it is just like the pics! Location is so stunning.
Just over 5 minute drive to Saint Martin ski lift.
We didn’t have a coffee machine to start because it was in repair, however on day 2 Richard insisted that his neighbour came round and set it up, even though we were not too bothered. However the coffee was such a great boost in the morning!
Underfloor heating downstairs is nice, however the fire upstairs was so toasty after a days skiing! There were only 4 of us, but considering it sleeps 10 it makes it a great spot.
The upstairs lounge/kitchen area is fantastic, the views in morning to the mountains were something else!
Richard couldn’t have been more helpful and the guide he sent was great! Most restaurants were closed as it’s pre season so looking forward to trying out the recommendations when we come back….
We just booked again for February half term with the kids and can’t wait!
We thought the chalet for the price per night was exceptional value! Rarely leave reviews but had to after this stay!
No personal towels are provided, only hand towels and bath mats. You are informed of this in the guide before arrival. A slight inconvenience but I guess with up to 10 people it keeps cleaning costs down.
