Sweett - Pavillon Madeleine

Location was amazing. Walking distance to everything. Very clean and all that you would need. Easy to access. Very comfortable.

Wifi was poor. No shower gel provided. Be prepared to climb a number of stairs with your bags. Worth it. But be prepared.

It was advertised as two bedrooms and two bathrooms. But one bathroom did not have a toilet. I think the way this was advertised was misleading. Some of the utility items (soap) were not provided at the start. But we got them once we informed them online. No human contact The reception to store luggage is a good 25 min walk away. This put us off leaving our luggage

It was perfect

The location is superb - easy walking distance to central Paris, and convenient for bus and metro access, so it was super easy to get around. The neighbourhood was upmarket and I felt very safe walking around as a woman on her own. There were lots of lovely restaurants nearby and a Carrefour for groceries just a few blocks away. The keycode access was convenient and well communicated, and I appreciated being given an early check-in. The room was small but comfortable and clean, with a decent bathroom and well-equipped kitchenette, and having a washing machine was a huge bonus. It was perfectly comfy for me on my own - but I suspect it would be a bit of a squeeze if you had two people and two suitcases, and a warning that a large person will struggle to squeeze between the end of the bed and the wall (which has a heater panel intruding into an already tight space)

From the website description and promises of luggage storage, 24/7 staff support etc, I was expecting a lobby/check-in area with staff on duty 24/7. I specifically chose this venue over others for this reason, because I wanted this layer of security as a solo female traveler. But it was not the case - you are given a code to access a door in from the street, and then you must cross a small courtyard and climb more than 60 stairs up a narrow winding staircase (no elevator) to reach your room. There are no staff on site at all and no lobby of any kind. The promised luggage store is actually at another of their locations which is a 25-minute walk away and very inconveniently located - I wasted half of my final morning in Paris trying to get there to leave my suitcase while I did some final shopping. I felt quite badly misled on these two points, and was also let down by the overall service experience, On arrival I found that the safe in my room was still locked and could not be used. I reported this within 20 minutes of arriving, and it still hadn't been fixed by the time I left A WEEK LATER. In fact twice they sent me WhatsApp's promising that a maintenance visit had been booked for that afternoon - but they never arrived, and eventually after 6 days they sent another message conceding that they had lost the key and simply could not resolve the problem. So I had to carry my valuables around with me, or risk leaving them in a room with no security staff on duty. The promised "high-end toiletries" in the shower were empty. There were no instructions left on how to use the washing machine or safe - these were also not listed in the app. I was able to work it out online but surely at a minimum this kind of info should be provided. Overall I enjoyed my stay in Paris and loved this location, but it will be the last time I choose a Sweett property - their marketing is misleading and service and security not up to standard.
