To the west of the toilet block is a small playground. There are two restaurants on the island, open mainly in summer or by appointment. The village, which is worthy of protection, is an unusual sight. The small, well-preserved sailor's houses with their cozy gardens and narrow, winding streets are now a feature of Strynø and well worth a stroll. Galleries and small flea markets are everywhere. In the center of town is a tall flagpole with benches around it. Every year in May the maypole is erected with celebrations, speeches, music and singing. Strynø is a small island in the South Fyn archipelago and is about 35 minutes by ferry from Rudkøbing. Visitors experience the special peace and quiet of the small islands.
