Our family of 4 had such a wonderful stay at Karen’s place in Escandón (a great neighborhood just south of Condesa). The place is clean (and our 6 day stay included a mid-week cleaning). The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is adequately equipped for a short-term rental. There is a lovely roof patio that is perfect for relaxing in the mornings and evenings. There is also a washer and dryer (supply your own laundry soap), which was a great bonus. The neighborhood is fabulous. There are many wonderful, local restaurants and taco stands in the blocks around the flat. We often walked 12-20 minutes into Condesa for fancier meals and to find spots that had been written about on travel blogs, but there was also so many great family run places right in this neighborhood. We always felt safe both in the building and the neighborhood. There was always a friendly security guard at the building’s front desk. Overall the place is quiet for a flat in a busy city. It felt like a peaceful oasis. There are fans in the two bedrooms and the living room. Using the fans, keeping blinds closed for the hottest part of the day, and opening the windows for fresh air kept the flat at a comfortable temperature. There is no air conditioning/heating but we didn’t miss that. Karen was always available via WhatsApp when we had a question or concern. She is super responsive and kind. We would definitely try to stay here again for future trips back to CDMX.
