It was good! We liked it. It had charm while still being a solid accommodation. There were occasionally bugs, to be expected for how wooded the area is and how old the building is. Near to things (general store, caverns, parkway) while still feeling isolated. Loved using the fire pit and the fireplace.

From the moment I stepped into the little cottage, it felt like I had found a long lost friend. It was even cuter than I had expected. What a wonderful little place that I could tell is very special to the owners as it has been in their family for many years. I feel privileged that my family and I could be a part of memories made at the home. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to come again someday.

Enjoyed it!! Rustic If you want 5 star hotel this is not it. But if you want a cozy, authentic, 1930’s cabin with few changes in the mountains this is it. In the woods. Coffee on the porch. Comfortable Hummingbird visited! Very relaxing. Close to Linville caverns and falls and Blue Ridge parkway. Fire pit for marshmallows. S’mores! Big yard for fun. Relaxed but never bored. Gorgeous table of recycled wood. Look for secret window ?

Two couples stayed at Tensie's cottage for a golf vacation. We picked it mainly because it was near to our friends house and we were going to be spending time with them. All in all it was okay. It is a very old house so expect things like doors sticking on uneven floors and low ceilings in the upper bedrooms. There are two bathrooms but be aware that they are on the same floor (the one with one bedroom) and there is only one very small shower! The upstairs sleepers have to come down the stairs to use one of the bathrooms. The other bathroom is roomy but only has a tub. This would have been a game changer for us if we had known. It does say bring your own linens and towels but we didn't think of dish/kitchen towels (our fault) The lighting in the house is very poor. We enjoyed the front porch and the privacy.
