This hotel is in Kolonaki, a gorgeous neighborhood just a short walk from the city center—the perfect place to stay if you want to be away from the tourist crowds. The rooms have great interiors, plenty of light, and a strong sense of design. Mary and the staff were kind, helpful, and kept our room spotless. They also adjusted our rooms so we could be next door to our friends.
Kolonaki is on a little bit of a hill - I have a bad knee and this still would not deter me from staying there again. It's really a lovely place.

Buga Villa is an excellent choice for a stay in Athens. Its location in Kolonaki, on the upper slopes of Lycabettos Hill, is hard to better. This is one of the most attractive parts of the city, green, hilly and full of character, with staircases running between narrow streets, very good bars and restaurants, and easy access on foot to Exarchia, the Panathenaic Stadium, Syntagma and much of central Athens. Evangelismos metro station is also close by, which makes getting around very easy.
The room itself was excellent. It was peaceful, comfortable and very well equipped, with a very good shower, effective air conditioning, a Nespresso machine, a full-size fridge, strong WiFi, comfortable chairs, and a bed and pillows that made it very easy to rest well. The balcony was also a lovely feature. The hosts were highly responsive throughout. Altogether, this is a superb option for anyone looking for a calm and comfortable base in Athens.

Beautiful apartment, great shower, lovely staff
Please note that the neighborhood is located on a steep hill, with sharp inclines on the way to the hotel and many stairs along the route
