Communication with the host, Sara, was responsive and very friendly. She provided great detail & pictures for easy check-in. The description and photos are accurate. We found lugging our full suitcases up a flight of stairs challenging. Immediately upon entering the apt there’s a small glass landing (approx 3’x3’) with an additional 4 or 5 glass steps down to the floor of the apt (as shown in host’s pics)—precarious feeling with heavy suitcases. The apt is spacious with adequate seating and a small table for 4. We did not use the kitchenette. I underestimated our ability to easily navigate the ladder to the loft, esp if the need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night arises or when waking up a little groggy in the AM—it’s a bit steep, narrow (esp near the top due to the wall bump-out) and the rungs are shallow. The bed was adequate. While the apt looked clean, we soon discovered the loft railing, the grout in the shower and the floors needed thorough cleaning (as evidenced when I walked 7 paces from sofa to kitchen in new socks and the hairball). The bathroom lacked a toilet paper holder and the sink was very slow draining. I mentioned these things to Sara; she appreciated me bringing the issues to her attention, so I believe they will be addressed. Since our stay only 4 nights, we wore slippers and wiped down the railing. The location was very good; a few blocks to the bus, easy walking distance to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, etc.

Federica was so accommodating in allowing us to drop off our luggage before check in time. She also had a cot brought in for the fourth person in our party, since the sofa bed was a little too small for two people. There was a small fridge which we used for water we purchased at the Carrefour close by. (We refilled at the different water spouts/fountains also over the city.) There’s a small kitchenette which was great for getting ready since there’s a small sink and counter space and a small table with 4 chairs. The best part was the air conditioning which especially felt great when we returned after lunch so we could rest for a couple of hours before going back out to the heat. This place is within walking distance to a lot of sightseeing areas and food. We got a 72-hour metro pass which we used to go everywhere (max due to reserve your tickets to popular attractions in advance.) We took the Leonardo express train to Rome Termini from FCO (which is the fastest way to get there since it bypasses traffic) then took the metro to Argentina stop to get to Federica’s unit. I would definitely recommend staying here. It was worth it for the convenience of being close enough to return to for a short break from the heat as well as proximity to food and transportation.

It was a perfect location and the apartment was super clean and spacious. The only thing that caught me off guard was how small the couch bed was. It was hard to fit two people on it. Overall everything else was great! I recommend.
