    We had a wonderful stay at Varana Hotel. The hotel itself is excellent, but what truly made the experience special was the staff and service. Every single team member was kind, welcoming, and genuinely wanted to help and spoil us throughout our stay. The room was comfortable, clean, and very pleasant, and the hotel pool was absolutely perfect. The location worked very well for us because we were looking for a quiet and relaxing area, but it’s important to know that there isn’t much to do or many restaurants nearby. We ended up eating mostly at the hotel, both because the food was good and because there are not many dining options around. We also stayed with our dog and there was an additional charge of 1,500 THB per night for pets on top of the room rate. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. If you are looking for a hotel where you can fully relax and not feel the need to leave the property, this is the perfect place.

    We stayed at Varana Krabi Hotel. For the first three days, we trained both inside and outside the gym without any issues. On the fourth day, a staff member approached me and, in a rather strict tone, told me I couldn’t train shirtless. He also said that I’m not allowed to move any gym equipment, not even slightly. This raises a question: what kind of “sports hotel” is this? It doesn’t feel like a sport-friendly environment at all. These rules are not clearly stated anywhere and seem to depend on personal discretion. A hotel that cannot deliver on what it promotes (athlete friendly space suitable for HYROX trainings) If you are a pro athlete looking for a place in Krabi to have a personal training camp, avoid this place by all means. As a professional coach with 20 years of experience and pro athlete, I wanted to share my honest feedback. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place.

    Everything inside the hotel is significantly overpriced. The staff made persistent efforts to upsell additional services such as tours and spa packages, often at prices far higher than what you would find outside the hotel. It felt less like genuine hospitality and more like constant sales pressure. The restaurant experience was also underwhelming. The food appeared to be sourced from outside vendors and then marked up heavily before being served, which did not justify the price or quality. One particularly concerning issue was the drinking water. Bottled water was sold at around 100 THB++ per bottle, yet it was already opened before being served. This raised serious doubts about whether the water was truly sealed or if it had been tampered with or refilled. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. The combination of excessive pricing, aggressive upselling, and questionable practices made for a very poor experience.
