Great location and a fantastic property for what we needed; we all loved the house. There was plenty of space for everyone without it feeling cramped and to be able to get away for a bit of peace if you needed to. The size of the property enabled us to spend time comfortably with extended family. Super soft carpets that were lovely to walk on with bare feet. Really comfortable beds and warm duvets that helped a good nights rest. Plenty of off street parking which was great.
House was booked for 9 people. When arrived only bed space for 8 made up and no extra bedding available anywhere in the property for the sofa bed. Ended up having to borrow bedding from family members who live in the area. 8 beds made up but double bed only had one towel left on it , not 2; not many people want to share a wet towel even with someone they love! Baths towels that were provided small and no individual hand towels for those of us who need an extra towel for wet hair. Again no additional towels found anywhere in property, so again towels borrowed from local family. Kitchen really really poorly equipped. Not enough cutlery or plates or glasses for the number of people we booked for and definitely not for the 12 that was advertised as the number of people the property could accommodate. If a house is advertised for 12 then there should be a minimum of 12 of everything. We had 7 forks and 8 knives for 9 people and 6 drinking glasses. Not enough plates or bowls for everyone either. The cooking equipment was also not adequate for the number of people the house could accommodate. The largest saucepan was only slightly bigger than the length of my hand; only really big enough to cook for 4 not 9 and definitely not 12 as advertised. Only one sharp knife, no bread knife, no cheese grater, no wooden spoon. Whoever set the kitchen up has no idea about the sorts of utensils that you need for cooking for larger numbers of people. Again large saucepans and frying pans had to be borrowed. The equipping of the kitchen needs serious reconsideration. We were lucky to have family living very close by so we could borrow things. If you rented the house with the same number of people and you didn’t have that luxury, you would be completely stuck. The Wi-Fi connection was poor. I needed to work remotely, could not connect consistently well while in the lounge with the router only across the hallway. Outside bins already full so had to leave with all our rubbish - not ideal.
