Escape to Lake View Chalet, a spacious A-frame home nestled in peaceful Sudden Valley, Bellingham. This stunning retreat offers breathtaking views of Lake Whatcom and is ideal for large family vacations, reunions, or an escape with friends to explore all the PNW has to offer. With over 3,000 sqft of living space, this charming chalet features 5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms boasting plenty of room for everyone!
The Space:
Whether you spend your days lounging by the lake or exploring nearby attractions, Bellingham Lake View Chalet is the ultimate destination for an unforgettable vacation - family-friendly, pet-friendly, and breathtaking lake views! Across the street you'll find Sofield Park, offering a large grassy lawn and a sandy beach perfect for relaxing and swimming - kayaks and paddle boards are provided! Walking distance from the Marina, dog park, and a 18-hole championship golf course open to the public. Minutes from world-class mountain biking and hiking trails. There's no shortage of fun & activities here!
Parking for up to 4 vehicles with FREE EV CHARGING! The three-level fully furnished home is designed for comfort and convenience. The main floor is bright and airy with an open-concept living and dining room, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, and 3 sets of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open up to a private 700 sqft wraparound deck offering stunning lake views, outdoor dining and a gas BBQ. There are two bedrooms on the main floor both with Queen-Size beds and private en-suite bathrooms.
The primary bedroom on the lower level features a King bed, a private en-suite, and a desk set up as a dedicated workspace. The lower level family rec room is equipped with a flat-screen TV with all the streaming services, stereo, pool table, wet bar, and a 300 sqft deck through double sliding glass doors, along with an exterior entrance leading to a kids play gym.
The upper level of the home provides sleeping arrangements for up to 8 guests. The open loft area has a bunk bed, with a twin bed on top and double bed on bottom, and full bathroom that will always be available to guests. There is a 5th Bedroom that includes a double bed + three single beds.
Enjoy the convenient location, with Downtown Bellingham just 20 minutes away, the US/Canada border 35 minutes away, Seattle and Vancouver BC Canada 1.5 hours away, and 1.5 hours to Mt. Baker.

We stayed here for a family memorial/reunion and it was the perfect space for several families. There is space to be together and space for a break from each other. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is a huge perk. The house is comfortable and feels like a home more than a rental. It’s well appointed with most anything you need, but we didn’t have quite enough towels for our party of 10. That was easily solved with a quick run in to town and didn’t impact our enjoyment of this truly lovely space. The fire pit area is so cool and we enjoyed s’mores out there every night. There are lots of homes around but great big trees that still make it feel like you have privacy - almost like a treehouse. The lake is just across the street and is perfect swimming space for little kids and a great spot to launch paddle boards. Parking is tight if you have larger vehicles but we made it work for us. It was really a perfect space for us and I know we’ll share stories about our time here for years. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we hope to come back again

My extended family had a great stay in this house. We loved strolling the neighborhood, my kids loved playing in the lake and there was plenty of space for the whole group to spread out. The place was easy to find and well located to day trip up to North Cascades National Park. I highly recommend this spot for an easy, relaxing family gathering.

We had a great time gathering for a guys weekend at the house; the hosts were very responsive to all questions and were well organized. Only minor hiccup was a tv that stopped working; however, they had it replaced quickly for us to use. Overall great experience!

The house is great. Comfortable and well equipped
From the photos I assumed the grassy area was our backyard. It’s in a neighborhood and surrounded by many homes. So not private. Marina is basically for residents. Nothing to rent for visitors to go on the lake. Emma was very responsive and accommodating.
