About this cabin rental
Welcome to the Cozy Cardinal Cottage! It’s heaven in the holler! Our quaint country cottage exudes woodsy charm! Tranquility awaits on a quiet dead-end street just 40 minutes from Columbus and five minutes from the antique mall, coffee shop, put-put golf and more at Route 33 and 374. Our little cottage is a short drive to the quieter, but just as breathtaking Hocking Hills attractions. We are just two miles from Cantwell Cliffs and 8 miles from Rock House. Old Man's cave is about 16 miles away.
We are also very close to the miles and miles of beautiful hiking trails at Clear Creek Metro Park and the Rockbridge Nature Preserve. The “rock bridge” is truly a natural marvel!
Our adorable cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day hiking and exploring the beautiful Hocking Hills Region and is an ideal couples getaway. While it is perfect for a couple or two friends, it does accommodate 4 guests over 13 years of age for a cozy stay. There are two bedrooms. One is a small bedroom with a queen bed, and the other is larger with a king bed.
The beautifully updated kitchen is well equipped for your basic cooking needs with a 20" gas range, fridge, farmhouse sink, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and more. Please note we are on a sensitive septic system and do not have a garbage disposal or a dishwasher.
The main living area is quite cozy featuring a stone wall with an electric fireplace. The home is equipped with wireless internet and two smart TVs (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom) for you to use your streaming subscription services. We also have a good selection of board games if you need to really unplug. ;)
We have an outdoor fire pit area. There are also a selection of yard games in the shed (corn hole, axe throwing, bocce) and a comfy hammock.
The home is equipped with Ring doorbells on the front and rear doors. There is also a security camera on the driveway and a wildlife cameras on the side recording motion, audio and video 24/7 for the protection of our home. If tampered with, guest will be asked to vacate the property without refund of stay.
Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the hill country which means you may encounter wildlife. Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various insects and pests that live in the country and very occasionally do make their way inside. The cottage utilizes pest control services on a regular basis, but this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will ever be visible.
The cabin does not have central air conditioning.There is a portable AC unit in the master bedroom
HOUSE RULES
This is a PET FREE PROPERTY. Pets of any kind are not permitted.
This is a SMOKE FREE PROPERTY. Vaping or smoking of any kind are not permitted in the house, on the deck or anywhere on the property.
You are required to send a photo of your driver's license and names and ages of all guests on the reservation and a signed rental agreement. If this is not received in 24 hours, the booking request will not be accepted.
NO fireworks. NO indoor fires May through August.
Maximum occupancy is four people.
NO extra guests will be permitted at the property outside of the original number of guests booked. Unreported extra guests will result in an immediate cancellation with no refund. The total occupancy at any time is four people, including visitors who are not spending the night.
Tampering in any way with the internet, home security system or cameras will result in a cancellation of reservation with no refund.
VRBO will charge a $500 damage deposit. If nothing is missing or damaged, the deposit will be released two weeks following your stay.
Maximum length of stay is 28 nights. Stays over 20 days will require an extra mid-stay clean.
Please note: house rules will be enforced. A violation of house rules will result in cancellation of reservation. All guests will be required to vacate with no refund given.

Great spot, very close to Hocking Hills and a short drive to stores and restaurants. It felt very secluded, inviting and homey. Beautiful home, and the host was amazing! Within 10 minutes of checking in, we were greeted by a family of deer! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage had everything we needed for a quiet relaxing weekend. It is secluded enough but also only about 20 minutes to hocking hills state park. I would highly recommend staying here!!
