MaiLan Hale is located in downtown Kailua-Kona , one of the most visited area by the tourists while on vacation to the Big island. Surrounded by lush TROPICAL GARDEN, this peaceful and tranquil property sits in the heart of Kona town. Indeed an enviable location, you can enjoy the serene surroundings and listening to the bird singing during your trip. This beautiful place is only 5 minutes walk from the shop and stores and within 2000 ft from the beaches.
This vacation apartment offers 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. One of the best features of this apartment is the separated two living areas for your privacy while travelling with the family or relatives. The first living is a 2 bedrooms 1 bath apartment with the full kitchen, a cute lanai. The 2nd living room is considering as a master suite (or a Studio) which has an separated entry and next to the two bedrooms apartment. Inside the master suite, you will find a full bathroom, kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, a small couch and a dinning table of 4 chairs.
This apartment building is located in downtown Kona area, but in a quiet subdivision, you will find yourself perfectly situated within all the conveniences while being in a tranquil and private setting. A few minutes drive out or a lovely walk away, you will find cafes, shops, restaurants and beaches.
Please note that this listing is not offering an entire of the building. The upstairs level is occupied by the Host family with two toddler girls.

- When booking this apartment, please entire the right number of guests. We will prepare the apartments (including towels, amenities and extra futon) based on the number of guests on the booking.
- Beach towels are available per request.
- Shared Laundry machine on the building (not inside this apartment)

Property was great location to get out fishing. Clean a quiet.

The property was in a great central location - 10-15 min walk to the downtown area/ocean. We rented it because it said it slept 10, but I can’t imagine how that could’ve worked unless you had small children with you. The hosts were very nice and responsive, but there were a few things that could’ve made our stay a little more pleasant. There were not enough sheets/blankets for the beds. We used the air mattress in the living room to fit everyone because one of the beds in the studio that we were expecting to use was a square shaped futon that none of us could fit on. The air mattress did not come with any sheets or blankets. They did bring a blanket when we requested but no sheets. We also did not have enough towels to start the trip - we had 8 people and only 5 towels. They brought a few more, but it was a bit of a challenge for each of us to use only 1 towel for the entire week. Items were all provided in low supply. We started the trip with just a small amount of dish soap, hand soap, etc so we ran out and had to go to the other unit to refill. There weren’t enough utensils for all of us. We only had 1 roll of toilet paper to start the week but they gave us a larger supply once we requested it. The trip could have been a lot easier/more comfortable for us had they done a better job stocking the place with these essential items. That being said, they were very nice and responsive every time we asked for something. Overall we had a wonderful week in Kona!

First off - Super nice Hosts who live above the apartment. They were friendly and helpful. But, it was 6+ blocks from the waterline and further to an actual beach (not the 2 blocks as advertised). The pictures of the yard are old and do not represent the actual condition of the surrounding yard today, which can best be described as ramshackle and cluttered. The area was quiet and the interior pictures are exactly as represented. The apartment was comfortable, but it could have been better equipped; for example sleeps 6 to 10 people but only has 5 coffee cups and 5 places for people to sit and eat. All in All a comfortable stay, but compared to the other VRBOs I have rented it was too expensive for what we got. At that price it should have been cleaner, with a better kept up yard and better supplied - and closer to the ocean as advertised.
