The location was good, but as I used to live in the area, I knew that already. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms a good size. The large games room was great, but to be honest, I would have preferred a room for 8 to sit down to eat. The host responded when we had problems, but was unable to solve them in the timescale required.
On arrival there was no hot water. We alerted the host immediately and spent the first afternoon back and forth without any fix. Ultimately an engineer had to come the following morning around 11.30am and a part was replaced. The problem for us was that there were 6 of us all needing a shower before a morning funeral which was the reason for our visit. I had deliberately chosen a 2 bathroom house for this reason, so to then end up squeezing us all into the one bathroom that had an electric shower on a very tight time schedule, was not what I wanted and indeed had paid top dollar for. When a discount was sought none was offered. Also the house had a very strong and pervasive smell of cigarettes. I suspect it is usually used for hen/stag dos - the kitchen was poorly organised and offered only 2 bars stools in a house to sleep 8. There was no dining table or space for a dining area. The living room was dark and very uninviting. Basically, if you wanted bedrooms, great, but not the rest of the house. Street parking was unreliable. I had to wash a lot of glasses, crockery and cutlery before they could be used. The top oven worked, but I failed to get the larger bottom oven to work. I would not recommend this house for the above reasons.
