Die Aufteilung in 4 Ebenen ist zwar beschrieben. Logisch ist in einem denkmalgeschützten Gebäude, dass das Badezimmer im Basement ist. Aber es gibt keine Ablagemöglichkeiten für z.B. einen Koffer, aus dem man "lebt" bei einer einmaligen Übernachtung. Deswegen unnötige Rennerei. Wenn der Fernseher wegen einer FB mit fertigen Batterien nicht funktioniert, dann hätten Ersatzbatterien AA da sein können. Entgegen der Darstellung des Inhabers war das nicht behebbar an dem fraglichen Übernachtungstag. Ein absolutes No-Go ist die Aufforderung, die Bewertung zu löschen, weil sie diese Punkte und eine Bewertung von 8 beinhaltet hat. Ich gebe keine Gefälligkeitsbewertungen. Deswegen nur 7. Nie wieder.

Once the Appartement building next door is up, the old tower will be a cute place again. Good, unique mix of modern style inside historic building. Whether it can fall back into the quiet times remains to be seen. It sits VERY CLOSE to a multi-story apartment building to be completed in about 6 months to a year.
The other surrounding houses are certainly historic. AND you can reach the Stiftsruine (site of the Festspiele) in about 5-10 min, leisurely walk.
Honesty of patron!
At the time we chose, booked and paid for the "former city watchower" we weren't made aware that - at least for still a significant time (year ?) - the building is located directly next (6-7 meters) to a VERY large building site. The former City Hotel was taken down and is currently being replaced by several equally large apartment buildings. We only found out - essentially at the day when we left home - and were sent the entry door code. We were assured by the host that arrangements had been made that the building "noise" would be very minimal, at the most the occasional loading/unloading of "sand and bricks". In reality, the noise started at 7 am! Continuous very loud banging and rattling: the steel scaffolding of the extensive 6 floor buildings were coming down. The builders tried to be "silent" and were very friendly - but they really couldn't work in anyway close to "quiet". It would have been honest to tell us ahead of time, instead of squeezing out some more revenues. We are currently ourselves restoring a historian clinic to live in. We wanted/needed some relax time and to enjoy the Hersteller Festspiele. Not really possible/not much fun when you are waken up by loud noise outside the tower, or you look into the eyes of a builder truck parked close and right in front the entrance door...! Recommendation to everyone: make sure that you know the stage of the building site to make an informed booking. The tower itself is "cute", 4 rooms on four levels. Ground level: one essentially walks straight into the bathroom/shower entering the main door into the tower. Cute idea! Not so cute when you try to check where the heck the loud car noise comes from at +/- 7 am. Open the front door, clad in a wet towel and "look straight into the eye" of a running builders truck.
Kitchen level needs lights on to be safe.
