Timber beams, soaring ceilings with passive solar clerestory windows, & a freestanding gas fireplace provide the classic Scandinavian cottage experience.
Work remotely with fast fibre optic Wifi & a forest view. A selection of books, puzzles, toys, & board games will keep everyone connected and entertained.
The hand-crafted shaker kitchen is fully equipped with premium appliances & cookware. Enjoy four brewing options with French roast, Keurig, espresso, decaf, & a selection of teas.
Both bedrooms feature custom cedar headboards, reading lights, premium mattresses with 3" toppers, cotton sheets, & cozy duvets. A pack n' play crib & high chair are available upon request.
The fully covered porch can be enjoyed year-round with Adirondack chairs & a Weber gas grill. The gas firepit & picnic table area are string-lit at night. Evenings can be spent making s'mores or watching the sunset over fir & cedar trees.
Guest Access:
The cottage is located at the rear of our property. It is tucked beside a seasonal stream & secluded 1-acre forest. It is yours to enjoy in complete privacy from the main house.
Designated parking for two (2) vehicles directly in front for easy access & unpacking.
*Please note:
We do not have an EV charger. There are 16 super-charging stations just 3 km from the cottage at the Sandown Shopping Center.
We are friendly, helpful hosts who will respect your privacy at all times.

We didn’t want to leave! The cottage itself is beautiful, and its location tucked away in the trees was very special. We enjoyed watching squirrels, ravens, and familles of raccoons and deer. It was close to kayaking, Butchart Gardens, beaches, farm stands, and so many hiking and running areas. The Cottage is well appointed with everything we needed. The hosts even anticipated us needing beach chairs and sunscreen on a particularly hot July day. The porch, fire table and hammocks are relaxing, the bedding was comfortable and the kitchen was a joy to cook in. We hope to return!

We cannot say enough about this stunning and extensively equipped home. Attention to detail for the comfort and convenience of guests is outstanding. A mere short drive to town for supplies; with lovely walks and sights in the near vicinity. We especially enjoyed the lovely Cy Hampson fenced dog park in nearby Sydney.
Our hosts, Julie and John, made the visit. They are hospitable, kind, and helpful without ever being intrusive.
Thank you both for a wonderful experience - we hope to visit again soon. P&O&S

My family had an amazing stay at this cottage. It was definitely one of the top rentals we have ever stayed in. The property had everything you needed and more and was beautifully decorated. We would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again.
