Welcome to Fawkes Quarter: A Charming Two-Bedroom Holiday Apartment in the Heart of York
Nestled just one flight of stairs up, Fawkes Quarter is a characterful first-floor apartment offering a comfortable and convenient base for your York getaway. Step inside to a welcoming entrance hallway that opens into a bright and spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area—perfect for relaxing or entertaining.
The living space features a wall-mounted TV, a cozy L-shaped sofa bed, and a dining table with seating for four. The well-equipped kitchenette includes all the essentials for a comfortable stay: a kettle, toaster, 2-ring electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge with icebox, and a slimline dishwasher. Please note that washing facilities are not available. A full set of crockery and cutlery is also provided to make self-catering simple.
The apartment offers two inviting double bedrooms. Bedroom one includes a mirror, chest of drawers, and a hanging rail, while both rooms are finished with bedside tables and reading lamps for added convenience. Complimentary sleep packs are provided to help you settle in and enjoy a restful night.

We visited an event and only stayed a couple of nights. The flat is located perfectly to access the old-town. Our overall stay was acceptable, however, the flat could do with a much better cleaning regime- for example, one of the kitchen cupboards had an opened bottle of honey, a half-drunk bottle of water and a deodorant in it in it. We ate out and didn't use any of the other kitchen facilities, so can't comment on the rest. Also, a couple of the bath towels had make-up stains on them and the top drawer in the chest of drawers had musty towels in it- almost like a previous guest put them in there and just left. Something to be aware of- the central location does mean noise- Yates bar is open until about 1am and got very rowdy on Saturday plus there are buskers on the high street. This is nothing that the flat owners can do anything about, and they do very helpfully provide earplugs, but worth being aware of just in case you prefer a quieter location. Didn't really bother us as we are very deep sleepers. I would highly recommend that the owners get a deep clean done, especially in the bathroom and to the sofa (it's actually time to replace the sofa as it's very worn). Once cleanliness is addressed, the place will be perfect. I did not raise the issues around the cleanliness during our stay as we were using the flat literally just to sleep and shower in as we were out and about the rest of the time and were staying for just 2 nights.
