Enjoyed my three night solo business stay here. Cool pool area (wish they’d heated it a little for the nice weather), great big room. Walkable good location. Definitely recommend.

My stay at the Carpenter couldn't have been more perfect. The hotel is an architectural gem with the most beautiful pool. The staff were so attentive and friendly and made the stay so much fun. I really recommend Carpenter for any Austin quick getaway.

Be aware that this hotel charges a mandatory daily “amenities fee” for services like Wi-Fi and pool access -services that are listed as included in the room description on Agoda. This fee is not disclosed during the Agoda booking process. When I raised this, the hotel staff pointed to Agoda as being responsible, but the fee is only briefly mentioned in the FAQ section of the hotel's website itself as well, which feels like an intentional lack of transparency.
On my first night, despite specifically requesting a quiet room, I was placed in one with a loud, continuous mechanical hum. Staff attributed the noise to the air conditioning, though I suspect it was something else. I requested a room change the next day, which was granted. Interestingly, I later learned that the guest who stayed in that same noisy room after me seems to have also requested a change - suggesting the issue wasn’t addressed and the room continued to be rented out as-is.
Overall, it gave the impression that the hotel's priority is maximizing revenue rather than ensuring guest comfort or providing upfront, honest communication.
