About this house rental
Welcome to HIGHER ELEVATION, a 7500 square-foot lot, newly remodeled new pool, spa and backyard full of games! 5-bedroom 4-bathroom (+ a/c & heat) hillside home designed in a modern-mission overlooking San Diego and Mission Bay (FIREWORKS) with breath taking views of sea world and from La Jolla to downtown! We're centrally located, near many attractions (eg beaches, Sea World, Zoo, downtown (read the neighborhood section for details). We are neighbors to USD and a 15 min walk to the Trolley.

We visited for our son's USMC bootcamp graduation with a bunch of family to celebrate. It was the perfect spot with plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was stocked for all the cooking we wanted to do. The pool and spa were super clean. The location was very convenient to I-5 so we got to places we wanted to visit with ease.

Location was ideal, central to all the main areas of SD. Plenty of street parking available for multiple cars. The pool & hot tub were great. The house was not the cleanest, the floors hadn’t been thoroughly swept as there were clumps of hair & dust in the corners upon arrival, and our feet turned black after walking barefoot. The amenities were extremely basic, with only hand soap and 3-in-1 hair/body soap in each bathroom. For the price, it would’ve been nice to have a few amenities like tissues, lotion, conditioner etc. One bed was crammed inside a closet in one of the smaller bedrooms, which was not specified when listing the number of beds/rooms. Communication with the host was interesting to say the least, as a few days before our stay, the host began sending rambling paragraphs and paragraphs of very specific rules & regulations that were not listed in the initial property details, and the consequences for breaking these last-minute rules including monetary fines for hanging decorations, and the possibility of calling the police for noise. I don’t have a problem with rules, but found it interesting that she chose to send these rules via private message AFTER the cancellation period, when the stay had been paid in full and could not be refunded. We felt like we were walking on eggshells all weekend and even bought a last-minute insurance policy because we were so paranoid about the rules. Overall, a decent stay, but could be better to reflect the high price tag.
