We stayed at this property with our two children recently. I have nothing but good things to say about this beautiful property and the great staff. We stayed in a suite on the top floor. While it was a bit dated, we had plenty of space and it was very clean. We had the best sleeps at the property. It was lovely waking up to the church bells and the birds singing. Breakfast was great!
Things to keep in mind - there is no dinner on site so you do need a car and there is no elevator. So if you are staying on the top floor, you have to get your luggage up there.
If we come back to this area, we would stay at Villa Alta again.

This is an amazing Villa located very convenient to Lucca, especially by train. The grounds are immaculate and include a pool, bathhouse, tended garden, and producing olive trees in the back. The front balcony offers a view of Pisa including the leaning tower. We were given the Music room, which is grand with high cooing and large balcony. Our only concern was the bathroom with the doorway being 6 foot tall and made of stone, and my 6 foot 5 inch tall head hitting it several times. Otherwise a fantastic visit.
