We have travelled to several 5 star hotels in Ireland over the years and this experience was sadly disappointing due to a very unhelpful front desk staff and booking manager, along with some further issues. Even before arrival there was a discrepancy with the booking so I reached out to the hotel through the third part booking site and I was never contacted back. I took screenshots of the issue and upon arrival they essentially dismissed my concerns even with the proof placing blame elsewhere with no attempt to be helpful or to work with the third party booking site to rectify the issue. I pressed it further and was placed on a phone call from the front desk with the booking manager (which seemed strange they would not deal with this professionally face to face) whom was not very helpful. When we got to our room, it was not the room we were told we were getting which could accommodate the two adults and two children in our party. The first hour of our visited was spent waiting in our room for the hotel staff to bring in further beds to fix their issue. Then when we visited the restaurant, there were little white moths flying around and we had to return jars of condiments because they were already opened by other guests. Upon return to our room, we discovered more little white moths flying around. Finally, upon check out, they charged me a further 100 euros for the original discrepancy. In conclusion, this hotel stay was very disappointing and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those travelling with children or who value good customer service.

This was our first time staying in this amazing Hotel. From the drive down the tree lined avenue, to our first glimpse of the Castle, we were never disappointed. The Staff were all friendly, courteous and welcoming. Our Courtyard room was beautiful with everything we needed to hand. The food in both the Bar and then at breakfast was delicious. Our highlight food wise was the superb tomato and garlic soup. We certainly intend to return again soon and this time we plan to stay for more than 1 night. Such a treat to visit and stay in such a special location.

Property was nice. Most staff was great. The reception was poor. One of our group got food poisoning and couldn’t leave the room, so could not enjoy the breakfast or the second day. Staff was told about the issue but just offered water. Manager wasn’t available for help. Likely would pass on this one for that reason.
